It was exciting for everyone from L’Arche Comox Valley who headed out to Horne Lake, south of the Comox Valley, for a few days of fun and relaxation on the lake in August.

There were many firsts for those new to the experience of camping and kayaking, but there were several seasoned campers there to show them the ropes.

Camping isn’t always easy – there are bugs, weather, and moments of discomfort – but that’s the beauty of it. Each trip teaches us patience, resilience, and how little we really need to be content. Out there under the stars, without our usual comforts, we have the opportunity to discover not only nature, but a more authentic version of ourselves.
