Teeing Up a More Inclusive Community

2026 Comox Valley Charity Classic supports L'Arche Comox Valley

L’Arche is honoured to be among the beneficiaries of the 19th Annual Comox Valley Charity Golf Classic, taking place Friday, September 11, 2026.

Funds raised through this year’s tournament will support The Anchorage, L’Arche Comox Valley’s home and community project, currently under construction. The project will provide 15 affordable, semi-independent suites for people with developmental disabilities, along with accommodations for a “Good Friend and Neighbour” assistant who will offer support while fostering community.

The Spirit of Belonging

L’Arche believes everyone deserves meaningful relationships, the opportunity to share their gifts, and to be valued for who they are. Through homes, programs, and shared community life, L’Arche brings together people with and without developmental disabilities in the spirit of belonging.

The Anchorage is an important next step in that mission. Along with providing affordable homes, it will create opportunities for friendship, participation, and greater independence.

“L’Arche is about creating places where people are known, valued, and able to contribute in meaningful ways,” says Lynda Brosko, Community Leader and Executive Director for L’Arche Comox Valley. “Support from initiatives like the CV Charity Golf Classic helps make that possible. We’re grateful to be part of a community that recognizes the importance of ensuring everyone has a place to call home and a chance to participate in community life.”

Investing in the Valley

The CV Charity Golf Classic, presented by Navacord, brings together local businesses, sponsors, golfers, volunteers, and community supporters to raise funds for organizations making a difference in the region. Over the years, the tournament has contributed more than $750,000 to local charitable initiatives, including support for L’Arche Comox Valley as a past beneficiary.

For Matt Beckett, a CV Charity Classic board member, core organizer, and longtime community leader, supporting organizations like L’Arche Comox Valley reflects the heart of the event.

“The goal of the Charity Classic has always been to invest in organizations that make a real difference in the Comox Valley,” says Matt. “L’Arche does that every day. Supporting The Anchorage will help create affordable homes while expanding opportunities for people with developmental disabilities to live with greater independence and be part of community.”

For L’Arche, being chosen as a beneficiary is more than financial support. It’s an investment in a future where people with developmental disabilities have greater opportunities to thrive. Thanks to the generosity of the Charity Classic’s participants and supporters, The Anchorage is becoming a reality.
