“The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.” – Coretta Scott King
Comox Valley Community Foundation (CVCF) recently announced its grant recipients and L’Arche Comox Valley was on the list once again this year.
“We’re so grateful to the donors who see the value in what we do here every day,” says Hollee Card, Community Leader and Executive Director for L’Arche Comox Valley. The CVCF grant will go directly to programs and activities at L’Arche’s I Belong Centre, a community hub located in Courtenay, BC that provides friendship, fun and support for people living with and without disabilities in the Valley.
Hundreds of organizations have benefited
Since 1996, the CVCF has provide vital support to a wide spectrum of charities, which in turn elevate the Comox Valley community. CVCF works with donors from all corners of the community – individuals, families, service groups, corporations and those who choose to remain anonymous.
More Support is Needed
While CVCF provides very valuable support for the I Belong Centre’s unfunded programs, more support is needed to ensure the quality of programming continues.
“We encourage everyone to come and learn more about L’Arche and the I Belong Centre,” says Hollee. “The Centre is open to people of all abilities to participate in programming, volunteer or just stop by for coffee. Your donations – be it time or money – enable us to create an enriching environment where everyone benefits.”
